During Hurricane Katrina, Benilda Caixeta, a New Orleans resident with quadriplegia, tried for two days to seek refuge at the Superdome. Despite repeated phone calls to authorities, help never arrived for Caixeta. Days later, she was found dead in her apartment, floating next to her wheelchair.

Other recent 9/11 hit pieces have slandered the 9/11 truth movement as having a violent extremist undertone. No incidents of violence at any 9/11 truth convergence or protest have ever occurred and organizers consistently advocate purely peaceful demonstrations.

First, I would designate Ground Zero as a crime scene, and encourage anyone with samples of air, parts of fallen buildings, photographs or movies of any part of the collapsed buildings, structural beams showing their condition and any cuts, any equipment to cut beams, the names of any companies contracted to work in the area or anything else to help reconstruct what happened on and after 9/11, and to identify companies and individuals who could be interviewed by my 9/11 investigators.

More to the point, it is equally true that Bush desperately needs the terrorists. They are his last frail hope for political survival. They divert public attention, at least momentarily, from his disastrous war in Iraq and his shameful abuses of the Constitution. The "news" of terror -- whether real or fantasized -- reduces American politics to its most primitive impulses, the realm of fear-and-smear where George Bush is at his best.

The IDF shot down a Hizbullah UAV that had crossed into Israeli airspace on Sunday night. It was filled with explosives. Another unmanned aerial vehicle fell out of the sky on Sunday night and crashed near Tyre, due to a mechanical failure. The IAF also destroyed five long-range rocket launchers in Lebanon on Sunday afternoon.
